Humble Beginnings to Future Hope
Augusta First Church of the Nazarene began as the result of a tent revival conducted in June, 1945 and was organized in October, 1945. The first church building was on Hicks Street and had its first service on Easter Sunday, 1947. The present church building on Lumpkin Road was dedicated in October, 1968.
Augusta First has had 15 pastors over the years. Each pastor has brought his unique characteristics to the church. Most importantly, each pastor has preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our people. We celebrated our 75th anniversary in October 2020. We are grateful to God for all He has done.
